More Afican Americans are affected by health related issues including prostate cancer, obesity, smoking related diseases, and other health concerns that are often overlooked. IBE pledges to find areas in which we can assist in informing the community about understanding and taking control of your health.
A few quick facts:
Tobacco is an equal opportunity killer. Every year, thousands of African-Americans lose their lives and health because of tobacco use and secondhand smoke. IBE decided to do something about this. IBE's Tobacco Prevention and Cessation (TPC) Project works to help people in our community make the healthy choice to stop or avoid smoking through education and access to treatment resources. To create an even greater impact, we also work with other community partners to make Indiana a smoke free air state through changes in policies and laws. Friend us
and connect to others who are fighting to improve the wellness and quality of life for all Hoosiers. The project is made possible with funding from the Tobacco Prevention; Cessation Commission of Indiana State Department of Health.
